Melville is exacly the sort of guy who is liable to break his back just for the hell of it. He's sporty, particually in quiddich, and can spend hours upon hours pushing himself to the very limit, perching on the edge of either exastion, agony, or both. And that's on a good day. And this was not a good day.
He finally admitted defeat, barely able to walk back to the shelter. He stumbled forwards through the snow, every part of his body completely numb. He was too hungry to eat, too tired to rest, and too cold to get warm. It was the exact sort of feeling he'd been wanting. The calm before the true pain sets in.
That's what the last couple of days had been to him. Having missed the dance on account of not wanting to go in tux, and wanting to avoiding meeting some faces in the same place, he'd headed home quite quickly, only for all hell to break loose. Right now, he just wanted someone to talk to, but knew he couldn't without letting his Slytherin facade slip away.
He sat down in one of the less comfortable chairs in the shelter, afraid that if he sunk into one of the sofas he might not be able to get up again for a while. [/size]

Wrapping her jacket tighter around her body, Bellatrix kept walking, just wandering aimlessly. She wanted something new: Much like a discovery, but now, she was obviously regretting this. She wasn't cold, she can't be cold, at least not more than usual, but her self-conscience kept saying otherwise.
Her feet kept dragging her to undesired places, much like them taking control over her, not that she tried to resist or anything, not enough energy to. She wondered if there was anyone she knew around here, but her eyes hadn't quite met any yet.
She hoped not to anyways, too much things on her mind that even that would be an overload to it.
Too.Many.People.
She thought sighing inwardly, as sge kept on walking, until she reached the shelter. Snow, something nice to allow everything to become much more: Uncolder....Obviously, that was meant sarcastically in her mind.
She was going to seat herself in a chair, but then noticed someone, someone she hasn't seen in ages to be more precise, someone she hasn't seen in ages and was now obviously her enemy to be more and more precise.
Perfect....Exactly what I need.
If only the people weren't just too crammed in lots of stuff around. As that thought invaded her mind, a sigh escaped her lips, not bothering to keep it to herself.

He looked up with tired eyes, not expecting to see anyone of much interest. Of course, there was most of the school visiting this place at least once in the holiday, but most of the people in school no longer interested him. Even the Potentials were one of the last things on his mind right now.
Bella's arrival did surprise him though. He hadn't seen her for a very long time, and was torn between a smile of being reunited with an old friend, and a frown. Bella was the friend of a enemy, an enemy which was a major part of why he was feeling so down.
Even so, he greeted her with a nod and a warm smile, pulling out a chair that was beside him and signaling for her to join him. He'd decide whether his hospitality was genuine or not later.

Bellatrix was slightly taken aback, of course thinking quite differently, but this was only the start. Greeting him back with a nod of her own, and a smile that didn't seem to reach her cold eyes, she sat down in the chair carefully, apparantely thinking that perhaps it was some kind of prank, that the chair will break down after she sat on it, but nothing like that seemed to happen till now.
Bellatrix knew she was giving out false judgements in her mind, extremely false, but she couldn't help it, espescially these days, but she, nevertheless, never allowed any of these judgements to escape her lips.
Apparantely, many thoughts ran through her mind that she didn't even notice the awkward silence that suddenly greeted them, but she kept her gaze lingering at the nearest window, watching the snow outside. "How have you been?" her lips moved unwillingly, obviously not knowing whether that was a question, or much of a statement hidden behind these words.

He knew he should have expected that question coming, but he really hadn't. He lowered his head, resting his amrs on his knees as he rubbed his forehead, sinking intonumb thoughts as he tried to answer the question. It felt like a needle hidden behind cotton wool: He knew that the pain would come through sooner or later, but it was still uncomfortable now. "Not so good." he answered truthfully, knowing he couldn't possibly have lied. Probably not to anyone.
He raised his head, looking at Bella properly for the first time. She looked very different from the last time he'd spoken to her, but there was no surprise there. "It's been a long time no see," he commented, avoiding his own problems swiftly, "How's life been treating you?"

It was as if that question had struck her quite hard, the answer he'd giving her was quite truthful, not much of an attempt to hide it, or so it seemed, but now, she knew the answer she'll give him would be a lie, a very big lie, but Bellatrix had been quite good with lies....well, as good as she can be that is.
Whoever said that life was fair was most definitely the biggest liar ever seen
"Considering everything, pretty fair." the words seemed to come out seriously, as much as the look on her face seemed to contain. Bella's answer was partially true, for it was technically one thing that had "graced" her life even more, and everything else was another matter.

He smiled, shaking his head. If he'd been more awake, and more easily able to observe her, he may have seen through her lies. But now, he was too self-absorbed to care. "Lucky you..." he said in a low voice, looking down again, rubbing his hands togather nervously. He was still slightly numb, but he could feel that it was starting to fade, following as a stage of figity agony.
"Bella, you're a girl, right?" he said. It was a statement, not meant to be answered. He began to lift himself up, straightening his back and looking at her. "Do you have any idea why a girl would chose a muggle?" he asked, completely genuinly interested in her answer.

Oh no Seth, you don't know how lucky I am.....
Thinking sarcastically, she lifted her gaze to look at Seth, raising an eyebrow. Her lips were moving, almost answering, and of course, the sarcasm never dying away "No, Seth, I'm a boy." Rolling her eyes at the thought, she decided better not to.
Her eyebrow didn't return down, instead, the other one took its turn in lifting up at the other question "Chose a Muggle?" she repeated the words, mainly trying to figure out what in the world was he talking about. "As in, chosing to go out with one?" her tone now didn't really seemed to be mixed with statementy {{=P}}, but it was much of a wonderment.

He smirked at her sarcastic comment, feeling like he should have been able to take some humour in what she said, but it was hard for him to feel anything like that at the moment.
"Yeah, go out with one" he said, watching her carefully. It felt much easier to talk about the subject indirectly rather then head-on, and as long as no names were mentioned, he'd hope to remain this calm. He sighed, rolling his eyes as he sat lower in the seat. "I just don't get why anyone would." he said completely genuinly. Although his hate for muggles was biased and often exaddured, he still couldn't understand going out with one. "I mean, its literally two different worlds."

Bellatrix merely shrugged "It's probably something that doesn't exist in the real world." she started, her eyes following the children outside the window. "Something only people who don't give a d*mn in the world and are perfect know: It's called love by the way, either that or simple stupidity." Her voice stood calm, as her gaze shifted back to Seth.
She wasn't going to ask any questions, she didn't want to ask any questions. Perfectly "happy" with the amazing problems she already has.

He shrugged. "I don't believe in love." he said under his breathe. "Just the whole concept of it..." he shook his head, knowing that it must have made him sound like an immature child, so he had to continue his explination. "It just sounds like being tied down, going completely crazy for just one person. Where's the fun in that?" he asked her, actually wanting to know an answer this time. But the more he replayed it in his head, the more it just came across that he was a naive child, only furthering his anger.

Bellatrix nodded her head, quite unconsciously. It was like she was caught by the people outside....smiling. She tried hard to imitate them, but the more she tried, the colder the look on her face gets. Eventually, she gave up, sighing inwardly, and her gaze was now resting on her pale hands. She never really had any idea of what to do when facing an old friend, exactly like it happened with Victoria, and curiousity, surprisingly, wasn't overcoming her on the matter now.
On the contrary, she wished nothing more than to close this matter, for if it didn't, well, matters like these led Bellatrix to think....and thinking wasn't that much good for Bella, espescially flashbacks. Trying hard to focus on something else, something sillier to get her mind off of everything else, she stared at the people entering, and at the people leaving. Much like hypnotized, except that her mind was somewhere else rather than thinking about the people. [/blockquote]

He sat back in his chair. It was obvious that Bella wasn't about to answer, as the truth suddenly began to dawn on him. Here he'd been complaining about his own problems, when Bella was obviously struggling with her own. A sharp feeling of painflul guilt slid itself inside of him before he could stop it, allowing a point of entry for everything else to come crashing down on him. He closed his eyes slowly, turning away and leaning down as he swore softly under his breathe, resting his head in one of his hands.
He tryed to avoid the feeling by tackling the one thing he could; his guilt for ignoring Bella. "Look, you're obviously not OK." he mumbled in allow voice, unable to rise his head to look at her, or own up to the fact that he was actually doing something nice. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked.

Seth, aren't you full of surprises.
Bellatrix thought, sighing inwardly as she seriously attempted not to show any sign of any kind of emotion running through her face, but apparantely, Seth wasn't fooled. Finally, her gaze rested on Seth, shaking her head with a smile "Seth...." the lack of using his first name quite a lot lately sent it coming out quietly "...I'm perfectly fine." she tried to plant a larger smile, and thankfully, succeeded for once.
"But I can obviously say that you aren't..." she started, her voice calm and quiet "...so iif you ever want to talk, I'm a good listener." she told him seriously, unable to find any other words. "Look, that girl, or boy..." she added playfully, but her smile didn't seem to reach her cold eyes "...must have had other reasons, or it's just simply the mere fact that she's moving on, replacing....even if it was with a Muggle" she added, her eyes finally glued to Seth.
Unable to allow the words from escaping her lips, they got stuck in her throat. "I agree with you on the concept of love, but others don't." she said it, as if it was the simplest thing ever, but unfortunately, she was conscious about that, it wasn't. "Oh God, didn't that sound so soppy." she mumbled, with an attempt chuckle. [/blockquote]

He raised his head, hearing her repeate the lie of 'I'm fine'. Sometimes that was one of the simplist lies, as it comes out automatically, but the harder you think about it, the harder it gets. Bella seemed to be straining with her lie. One of these days I'm going to have to teach that girl how to pass off a good lie... he told himself, a slight smile coming onto his face. "You keep telling yourself that." he told her, still obviously doubting her, but at least now he was happier. Even to the point of not minding so much that he'd been called Seth.
He shook his head to what she was saying, knowing that she was getting it exactly the wrong way. Any other time, it might have even seemed funny. But now it wasn't, as he looked up. "It's not like that, Bella." he told her, his voice grating. "I wouldn't give a d**n if a girl - or guy - went off with someone else instead of me. Most of the ones I like anyway are already either taken or two-timing." he said truthfully, pausing, "It's just - homelife, OK? My mums gone off with some muggle and now I've got to live with him and his insane daughter." He said, purposefully putting emphasis on that word, knowing it would affect her a lot more then it appeared.
He brushed his hair back, running his hands through the black hair and probably messing up the style while making his hands sticky from the hair-gel. "I'm glad someone agrees with that theory of love. Everyone else just looks at me like I'm an idiot." he said. Or at least they would if I told them, he said silently.
