Regan had been looking forward to the snow, but with a quick change of heart, she had decided to spend a day at the beach. Laying her beach towel down, she pulled off her shorts and tank top to reveal a black bikini. Grabbing her tanning lotion, she began rubbing it over her skin so that she wouldn't get burnt.
Looking around, she couldn't see anyone she knew. So putting on her sunglasses, she laid back and took in the warmth of the sun. She had asked Melville to come meet her, and although she wasn't sure if he was going to, she kept glancing up to see if he was there.

He looked across the darkened beach with eyes covered by black sunglasses. He didn't exactly look at his prime when he had to wear sunglasses against the bright sun, but he still remained with all of his charm. The only difference now was there was yet another barrier between him and the world, and he wouldn't have to try as hard to fight showing any feelings or weaknesses.
He walked across the beach, quickly finding Regan. Their agreements of where to meet had been pretty exact, and Regan was easily noticable from the crowd. He walked up to her, taking off the sunglasses to give her a warm smile, "Hi Barbie." he greeted her, sitting down besides her and replaceing the glasses.

Hearing his voice, Regan instantly smirked, then looked over at him. "Well hello gorgeous." She said looking him over. He called her barbie, but the name was starting to grow on her. Stretching for a second, Regan sat up so that she was looking at Melville. "How are you?" She asked simply. She still wasn't sure exactly what was going on between them. She really like Melville, but it was hard to tell what exactly he was feeling.

He paused, looking from side to side to work out exactly where they were on the beach - or rather, who they were near. "Been better," he said shortly after a short pause, as he leaned back, resting on his arms and deeply regretting wearing a dark shirt. Though, to be fair, almost all of his shirts where dark.
"How about you, Barbie?" he asked her with a welcoming grin. He hadn't seen her in a long time - not since before the ball, and he'd missed having her around. Missed having someone like her around... he corrected himself.

When Seth said that he had been better, Regan tilted her head and pouted slightly. Turning on her side, she ran her finger up his arm lightly. "What's wrong?" She asked hoping that everything was ok.
When he asked how she was, she smirked a little. "I am fine, a lot better now that I finally got to see you." She said with a truthful smile. It had been too long since she had seen him, so she couldn't help herself when she leaned forward and gave him a quick kiss.

He smiled when she kissed him, and kissed her back. He had to admit that the feeling of feeling better now in the others company was mutual. Just like any other girl... he tried to convince himself. He pulled her close, wrapping his arm around her and twisting his fingers through her blond hair, "I missed you too, Barbie." he told her with a small smile, and then sighed, knowing he'd have to answer her other question.
"Just.... don't ask about it, OK? I don't want to think about it." he said in a low voice, looking out to the water as he spoke.

When Melville kissed her back, she smiled inwardly. She was surprised at how much she had really missed being able to kiss him. When he pulled her close to him, she smiled brightly, then ran her fingers through his hair.
When she asked what was wrong, he seemed to get a little upset and said he didn't want to talk about it. Regan respected that, and didn't want to get him angry or sad. Resting her hand on his cheek, she turned his face back to hers. "Ok, we don't have to talk about it." She said with a reassuring smile as she kissed him quickly. "So what have you been up to gorgeous?" She asked trying to change the subject.

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes at her 'dodging' the question. "Surely that gets the same answer?" he wondered aloud, knowing that he'd have to answer the question carefully. He knew Regan hadn't done it on purpose, and didn't hold a grudge against that.
He sighed, pulling Regan even tighter towards him. She was warming - a different, nicer sort of warmth to the hot summery day. "I haven't been out much to be honest," he admitted. "Mostly trying to kill myself on the slopes." he made sure to give her a joking smile in case she thought he was serious. "I'm sorry I got to miss you in your ball dress. Was it bright pink and frilly?" he teased her. He had a feeling the 'Barbie' idea might stick a lot longer then he'd first thought.

As Melville pulled her closer, Regan found herself blushing slightly. She knew how Melville was, he was a typical Slytherin which she loved, but she liked how she was able to see this other side to him, the side that was a little more sensitive. "I haven't either, but I would like to go to the slopes sometime." She said truthfully, as she laughed at him talking about his experiences on the slopes. "Aww, now I am sure you were wonderful on the slopes." She said sweetly.
When he talked about the ball, Regan gave him a fake mean look about the dress. She would never buy anything pink, let alone where a pink dress to the ball. "You know it gorgeous." She said jokingly. "I wore a short little black dress." She said raising an eyebrow. "I thought you would like it, so I guess I will just have to put it on for you some other time." She said with a wink.

His mind began churning into auto-pilot as the vainity - part self-mocking, part genuine and part just out of pure habit - started as she said he was 'wonderful at the slopes'. "I wasn't 'wonderful'," he laughed, "I was bloody fantastic. I ended up almost killing myself because I was working too hard." he assured quickly, in case she had the wrong impression. Sports was one of the few desent things he could get attention for doing well.
"You should see me. I'd like to see how good you are," he said, the words slipping out of his mouth as half-tuned thoughts. Did he really want to go out with her again, this soon? He wanted to get out of the house, but he didn't want to get too attached to her, which could easily happen when he was this down.
Quickly turning away from that area of the conversation before she could make any plans, he commented on the dress. "Sounds intruiging. Maybe you should be taking it off - I mean, putting it on." he said with a cheeky grin.

When Melville said the he was fantastic at the sloped, Regan laughed happily. She could tell her was being truthful, and she was surprised that she had never realized that he did sports. "Well don't kill yourself up there, I would miss you." She said smirking as he said that he would like to see her on the slopes. "Then we should go sometime, and I can watch you being fantastic, and you can watch me try to keep up." She said with a smile, but noticed that he quickly tried to change the subject. She wasn't sure why, but she decided not to worry about it.
When Melville mentioned that she should be taking the dress off instead of taking it off, she felt a little blush creep up on her cheeks. "Oh really? Well, we may be able to work something out." She said in a whisper as she looked into his eyes, then winked.
