[Keller Valentine]

The sun was rising on the beach and yet the beach wasn’t empty, a lone figure sat on the sand, her dark hair was blowing in the wind, her eyes were taking in the beautiful scene before her. Keller had been here for about an hour in total, things at home were tenser than she would of liked since the appearance of her biological family. She had a sister she’d never known, she was a year older and far more popular than Keller could ever hope to be. Calamity was the girl that girls wanted to be and boys wanted to be with.

She shook these thoughts from her head and bowed her head slightly, her eyes closed showing that she was thinking something over in her mind. Her eyes slowly opened as a sigh left her lips, she didn’t want to be alone right now but here she was sitting alone on a beach with not even her dog for company.

Gathering her hair in her hands, Keller pulled it back over her shoulder and wrapped it around itself so that it was in a bun before she wrapped a royal blue ribbon around it to hold it together. Laying in the sand next to her was two elegant hair pins both were black and decorated with a red rose. She slipped them into her hair so that they went straight through the bun.

She wore a black fitted shirt that had ‘Heavens Sinner’ on the back between two white angels wings that covered the shoulder blades of the shirt, her jeans were the same only the wings curled around her hips instead of her shoulder. For once Keller had decided not to wear her black ballet shoes, having opted to wear black trainers instead.

“I’m so bored…” she whispered to herself.

Liam couldn't sleep. It had been one of those nights where the moon and the street lamp outisde of his house had seemed to bright, the silence too loud and the whole room too hot and too cold at the same time. Moods like that were irritating to say the least, and had to be escaped at all costs. It was this reason that Liam was up well before the sun was up, carefully treading around the house as quietly as he could to not wake any of his sleeping sisters.

He packed a backpack; much too large for the meager things he usually carried in it but it was almost impossile to find small bags for men which looked good. But today it seemed to come in useful, as he was heading out to the beach. Although the day was expecting to be warm, before the sun was up it was quite cool, so he put on his black hoodie and jeans, setting off.

It was a few hours of walking before the sun began to rise on the distance, an interesting change as he almost missed the darkness, but the growing light let him see the people more easily, and also made him recognise an old friend. "Keller!" he called out, striding along the beach quicker now when he'd caught sight of her, suddenly aware of how laid back his outfits were compared to normal. Getting up in the dark had stopped him from setting his hair right, and he'd been walking for quite a while. Not the most masculine of his thoughts, but he still wanted to make a good impression to Keller.

She looked up, unsure whether her mind was just playing tricks on her or whether someone had actually called out to her. Keller looked over her shoulder, her eyes quickly moved to the figure coming towards her, a smile quickly came to her lips. She leapt to her feet and ran over to him and quickly hugged him. “Hey handsome,” her faint Italian accent flowed from her pale lips. She kissed his cheek in greeting, still hugging him tightly. “It’s so good to see you Liam, I haven’t seen you in a while, I have to admit I was getting worried.”

Keller took a step back, a pale blush came to her cheeks, causing her to look down for a moment before looking back at him and smiling warmly. She pushed her hair back out of her face then smiled at him as she reached forward and touched his cheek before gently twiddling with his hair, wrapping it around her delicate fingers. It was amazing to see how far she’d come from the shy girl she’d once been to the confident girl who was shy about nothing.

“How’ve you been Liam?” she asked as she crossed her arms over her chest, smiling as she looked into his eyes, some sun light hit her eyes causing her to close them. She sighed as she raised a hand to the glasses on top of her head, pushing them down to cover her eyes. “I hate sunlight,” she muttered but yet her smile never faded from her lips.

once he was sure it was her, he couldn't stop the wide smile that spread across his face, even the light blush didn't do anything to dampen it. He had barely time to raise his arms into accepting the hug then he found her arms around him, taking a moment to get over the shock. He'd expected to have had to ask for the hug, and was shocked by this, brushing her hair like she was an overaffectionate dog leaping up to him.

His face went a deeper red colour as he felt the carress of her lips on his cheek, and being called handsome. He rubbed the back of his neck in an atempt of modesty, while he was loving every moment of it. "You shouldn't worry about me; I can take care of myself, you know that." he said, a charming half smile turning towards the new, bright sun, ever conscience of her touch.

Noticing her stop, he turned back to her, when he saw the light getting through her eyes. Ever the gentleman, he moved his position so that his tall shadow mostly covered her, letting the glare escape from her eyes. "I've been fine, thanks. Busy doing nothing," he answered with a small silent laugh, "How's my little vampire been?"

A slight giggle left her lips as she looked up to see his shocked expression but she ignored it and buried her face into his neck, she knew it tickled, the strands of hair that framed her face felt like feathers because of the way that it had been cut. Keller stopped nuzzling at his neck when she felt him stroke her hair, reaching up with right hand and taking the end of the ribbon in her delicate fingers, with a gently tug it came loose, allowing her black hair to fall about her shoulders, it was poker straight considering it had just been up in a bun.

Her hands moved to his cheeks. “Your blushing love,” she whispered, her lips were mere inches from his, she gently tapped his nose with her index finger. “You love it and I know it,” still her voice was quiet and gentle. She took a step back, making the distance between them bigger. “That as the case may be I’ll always worry about you, you’re my friend,” she said with a smile, that was true, she constantly worried about her friends but she worried about Liam just that little bit more. Not that she had favouritism amongst her friends but there was just something about him, and then there was the tiny little crush she had on him.

Keller noticed him move and smiled up at him, a small blush tainted her pale cheeks, had her cheeks of been of darker complexion then the blush wouldn’t have stood out so much. She looked away from him, she pushed her sunglasses back to the top of her head. “Thank you,” Keller looked back at him and smile when he said he hadn’t been up to much. Something in the next sentence mind her mind freeze. My little vampire…? she blinked several times, it was the ‘my’ part that made her mind freeze not the vampire bit, everyone said that because the sun hurt her eyes.

He won’t have meant it like that, I’m a just a friend to him, she thought to herself, this wasn’t about to spoil her fun, she’d recovered from the initial shock. “Since when was I your little vampire? I’m almost 17 and I’m only an inch smaller than you, so no calling me little,” she tutted playfully then hugged him, resting her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. “I’ve been fine…Ish…Since my biological family showed up my life has been really unsettled, being nearly killed was bad but this is torture the only person who hasn’t acted differently towards me is Arcadian,” she sighed, shaking her head slightly, not lifting her head from his shoulder. “I really am glad to see you Liam, you make me forget all the bad stuff that’s going on.”

With Keller pointing out that he aws blushing only made him blush that slight bit more, looking slyly sideways, "Me? Blushing? Surely such a thing has never happened before." he jokingly cast aside, aware that he was acting more nervous then a Hufflepuff, though was proud that he barely flinched as she touched his nose despite his awareness of how close she was. His eyes slid back to hers, where he saw a slight tint of red starting to appear, saying with a smirk, "and you can talk."

Some of the things Keller was saying and doing didn't really add up; using words like love carelessly and addressing him as my friend seemed to contrast with how close and over-affectionate she was being. Was this more then usual, or was he imagining it? He questioned it, stating, "You're in a very affectionate mood today." But he was also aware of how he was sending false messages - he didn't want to seem to interested, after all he cherished his relationship with Keller and already had a bad enough reputation without chatting up her. He embraced when she hugged him, and tried to show that he felt the same about her, even though he wasn't sure what she was thinking.

He patted her on the head partonisingly, calling her "little" again, before sliding his hand to her shoulder and holding her arms protectivly and affectionately. "It was a joke. You could be 100-years older then me and 7ft tall and I'd still call you little. But you love me really." He said. The last sentence was the ultimate test, spoken only when he was certain of having a close relationship with the one he was speaking to. The result of saying this - which he'd only done 4 or 5 times before, was always studied intensly for true intentions.

"I'm sorry to hear about your family and stuff though." he said after a moment with her in his arms, "I hope things can go better soon. I really do. I hate seeing little Keller upset..." despite how childish his language was, his words were genuine and came across as more sweet and cute then immature.

She noticed that his blush darkened, a smirk formed on her lips, couldn’t didn’t stop it. “Yeah well, what can I say. Hot guys make me blush really easily,” her eyes shifted back to him. “Perch‚ sei tu cos crudele verso me?” she whispered, her voice made her sound as if she was about to cry but no tears in her eyes. “Tu rompere mio cuore con ogni sorriso e tu don't pari vedere lo solo ancora IO quieto sentire quello se IO wasn't vicino tu lo vuole pareggiare più.” Her own language seemed foreign to her, it hurt her to think she was loosing part of her. Her hand went to her heart, resting her hand over her heart as she thought of her home, Venice, oh how she missed it.

“I’ve missed you, and besides I’m affectionate with everyone…Or at least with guys I am, you just a bit more than others,” she said calmly. Keller’s hair blew in the gentle breeze, her eyes closed, a look of peace came to her face. Her eyes opened as she looked back at him. “You make me affectionate so I’m going to blame you,” she stuck her tongue out at him. She buried her face into his shoulder, loving being held by him.

A shiver ran down her spine from his touch, her knees felt weak below her but she acted like nothing was wrong, she was good at that when it came down to it. She giggled when he said he was joking, the thought of her being 100 was funny enough but 7ft tall, she was barely 5ft 7. However his next words made her freeze completely, she didn’t know what to say, what could she say without betraying her secret. She couldn’t stop the blush that had found its way to her cheeks, she calmed her breathing then smiled, a true sweet smile, it was the sort of enchanting smile that only she could do because it summed her up in one small movement.

She smiled at him then nodded. “I feel better already, I have you,” she whispered in a very gentle tone, her words were true. “You can be so cute when you want to be can’t you, but that’s why I love you,” she winked at him like she usually would. “Hai nessuno idea come carino sei quando tu fare quello , IO potei bacio tu proprio adesso.”
