The sun was at its highest point in the sky on that surprisingly hot morning. It wasn't so much that it was amazingly hot, but the days before it had been so cold that it had managed to lure out many of the tourists, and the crowds of people coupled with the bright sunlight made it seem like a summers day.
Well, almost. the main difference was that there were no people in scanty outfits, and the occassional fumble with gloves and scarves. Liam himself was wearing a warm jacket with a brown, rough scarf. He'd only woken a little before, so his eyes were still a little tired.
He'd wanted to have woken up so much earlier then he had, but he still had to make the most of his day. He remembered some of his friends had been talking about this palace for a while, so decided to see if anyone was there.
Now, he was walking around the food hall. He'd missed breakfast, but hadn't been awake long enough to want dinner, but the smells and sights were still tempting enough for him to check if anyone was here. [/size]

Ronan had walked into the food court. he had heard that this place was full of Muggles who would believe anything except magic. He had pulled out his wand as he sat down and with a couple flicks peoples epty plates, glasses, and bags started to float and dance around the court. The children present started to laugh and ronan flicked his wand again so that their toys started to join in. He smiled as he watched the children play with the toys and their toys played back for the first time.

He leaned against the bars that went around the main eating area, watching all of the people smiling and talking as they enjoyed their food - and those that didn't quite enjoy it but liked the company. But as he was watching, he noticed a commotion on one side. Something... wasn't right.
He walked around the edge, before seeing something that definitely wasn't muggle. It didn't take long to work out that it was a boy from the school that was causing it, so walked towards him and grabbed the seat beside him, sitting down before he could complain. "Hey, mate, you trying to expose us?" he asked.

Ronan smiled at the kids then at the new guy "You dont have to worry. The only people here who believe in magic are those who can use it and the children. The adults are prolly thinking it is simply a carnaval thing." He sotred his wand as the peopel started to leave to go back to the games and rides and everything stopped and went back to normal. "I an Ronan Callahan"

Liam knew his arguments made sense, but still wasn't ready to give up all he'd been taught about protecting the great secret of magic. But he didn't like to argue with strangers either, so left the matter at that. "I'm Liam. Liam Mar." he introduced himself, not sure whether to shake hands or not. "So I take it your from the school? I think I might have seen you around..."

"How did you know that I go to the UoM?" Ronan said with a laugh. He was trying to keep the mood light and fun. "But yeah I go to the schoolbut i dont really go out that much. Normally I just stay at school for the holidays, and then travel durring the summer."

Liam nodded. As exciting as it was talking to Ronan, he always felt a little uncomfortable talking to other guys. Wel, most other guys anyway. "I go there too. I must have seen you around at some time." he said, looking around for someone he knew, then turning back to Ronan. "What house are you in? I'm guessing by he disrespect for the rules, probably a Slytherin, or maybe Gryffindor?" he guessed, knowing that although the two houses contradicted the most, they were probably the most similar.

"Griffindor, but the Hat wanted to place me in Ravenclaw. In the end it asked me what I like the most Birds or Cats? I said cats so here I am. Now I take it from your powers of observation you have to be a Ravenclaw. No other house notices the small things like that."

He nodded, surprised at how the boy had worked that out. Usually people didn't really expect him to be a Ravenclaw - his interlect usually either stayed t the classroom or to impress girls. This boy must have been considered a Ravenclaw for a reason. "Yeah, I am. I'm impressed." he admitted, though he hadn't thought what he had picked up on was very detailed. "What brings you here, anyway?"

"What brings anyone here muggle or magic?" Ronan asked with a smile. He saw a little boy alone in the corner with a stuffed dog. With a wave of the wand he transfigured the stuffed dog into a real dog. "To have fun. I mean we have sometihng that most of these people can only dream of having. I have it and they need it. So I help out, and I do it where It s lmost impossible to get caught."

He turned to see the boy and the dog uncertainly, watching the child's shocked expression and the brief glimmer of delight. So maybe Ronan was right, maybe it was a gift to help the less fortunate with. But he couldn't shake the feeling that something bad could happen as a consiquence; and sooner or later the mother of that boy would tell him to leave the stray dog alone, and he'd end up more sad then he was with the simple toy.
"You could still get caught. And then you'll ruin it for everyone. People sometimes work out that if something appears unbelievable, it often is." he said, a look in his eyes almost begging him to stop before something dangerous happened. "If you can do that, what's to stop someone evil, or even just clumsy, doing the wrong thing with the same logic?"

"The only thing stopping anyone in doing that is control over themselves." Ronan said. But to keep things running nicely he placed his wand back up his sleeve. "Now what is to say that I am not evil and was useing magic here knowing we are the only wizards here and the ministry could be on its way?"

Liam was brought into an unsettled silence by this thought not saying anything for a few second, before saying, "You're a gryffindor - or at least you say you are. I doubt anyone evil would even say they were in that house." he said slowly, though it was a rather naive way of looking at things, placing a lot of trust in the sorting hat's sterotypes.

"Relax I am not." Ronan said with a smile. "But you see what happens when you look at things from only one way? You leave yourself a big blind spot to other points of view. For every Situation you have to see it from multiple ways." Ronan gave Liam a stern but not cold look and said "And yes I have looked at this from many view points, and I am prepaired to take responsibility for my actions."

Liam took slightly more convincing then this, and on this matter he was so stubborn that he'd probably never agree, though he took note of Ronan's words and his view was not so black and white that he couldn't agree that his opinion was also right... marginally. He also didn't want to turn this into an arguement. "Do you analyse everything so thoroughly?" he asked, changing the subject.
