Even though Alex is a year older than Chris, they're still quite close. They met when Christine was only ten, and wasn't attending UoM yet. Her father was taking David to school, and she had insisted on coming along. They had met their that day standing on the platform. Chris had noticed him first as they both stood watching the train and the mass of students racing around trying to get ready. Both promised to look out for the other when she arrived at school the next year. Once Chris went to school they kept that promise, and have been close friends ever since.

"Nicki has NO idea why in the world did she ever date Alexander Sanct. Sure, he's quite good looking, but that doesn't matter in the least bit. A gryffindor, for one, which is partially why their relationship never worked. It's not like she LOVED him, he doesn't possess the personality needed for that for god's sake, but it would be a normal reflex if you found out that your "boyfriend" cheated on you. It wasn't the humiliation, it was the fact that if there came along someone perfect and much better than Alexander, then, he might as well do the same thing. That's what scares her. She thinks it's much better that they broke up because he cheated earlier, than breaking up for quite another reason later in life."
