Reila was born in Japan and named Reiji Wataru but after a bitter relationship with his single-parent father he abandoned the old family home, Kyoto, and then Japan altogether escaping to England and attending a Muggle Teaching University there before aspiring to become a Potions teacher at the school he'd always wished he could attend during his old school days in the reknowned Japanese Wizarding School The Tomioka Tessai
After cramming hard at University for two years as an undergraduate he emerged a fully fledged teacher and ready to take on the Wizarding Teaching ladder. After a failed attempt to patch up his rocky relationship with his now dying Father Reila toured his old haunts in Japan for a year before applying at the University of Magic.
