Rowena Ravenclaw walked through the corridors of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Peering around corners, she watched as students quickly made way to their next class. Stopping to repair a couple of floor tiles, Rowena glanced at her watch. With a silent gasp, she placed her time teller back into it's designated pocket hidden through magic. Hurrying to the Grand Staircase, she flicked her Vinewood wand. Right away, a sliver of stone stair hovered into view and landed with a small grind of stone on stone at her feet. Jumping onto it, Rowena tapped the marble hand rail firmly. Faster then before, the sliver made way two stories down and to the other side of the giant square tower.
Jumping off of the stair, it seemed to fall back into the rhythm that all of the other stone stairs were taking, leisurely gliding from ledge to ledge. Running through corridors, she approached the Charms Classroom. Stopping to catch her breath, she looked into a mirror neatly hung on the stone wall to her left. Looking at her hair, she blew a lock over to frame her face. With an ounce of concentration, her hair dove three shades darker. As if Rowena simply turned pages to get farther into her dark brown. Now with black locks neatly placed in their designated places, she walked gracefully into her classroom.
"You will be silent when I am talking," she immediately informed the restless class. "You may talk when I have given permission and only when." Now located at the front of her charms classroom, she sighed heavily. "I am Professor Rowena Ravenclaw," pausing she waited for the name to register in her students minds. "Yes, I know the exact name of that which Ravenclaw House is named for. I am her descendant and my mother named me it because she thought for me to become a great witch and learn well. I shall let you be the judge in whether I have given my mother what she wanted." Turning, Rowena situated herself in a comfy chair behind the marble desk. "This is Charms Class, here you shall learn the many charms that are used in the wizarding world."
Sitting up straight, she mentally scolded herself for slouching in the presence of her students. "Some of you know me from Ravenclaw, for I am the Head of Ravenclaw House, most of you know me because in all of your years at Hogwarts you have been taught by me." Lifting her wand out of an inner pocket of her outer robe, Rowena neatly nestled it comfortably in her left hand. Standing, she waved her wand once, producing a black chalk board in the front of the class.
Opening the top draw on her right hand side, Rowena clenched something in her fist. Walking up beside the chalk board, she unfurled her fingers. A long piece of chalk hovered out of her hand and set in a position ready to write. "There are a handful of rules in my classroom that must be kept all your years at Hogwarts. Note, that I do not cave lightly when a rule is broken." The piece of chalk stayed still, unmoved by her words, silent. "You shall be informed of these rules on our year's journey into the realm of charms." Still, the chalk stayed still and frozen.
"Let us start with the question: What is a Charm?" Now the petrified chalk stick burst into life an wrote down her question. Below, the white chalk morphed into red and wrote "Answer:" after that it fell silent once more. "Who, can answer this for me? Please know, that this is one of the many times in my class were you can earn points, if you answer correctly."
